Vani to start favourite in absence of strong rivals

With two titles in four tournaments so far, Delhi golfer Vani Kapoor would start as favourite in the fifth leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour, starting at the Classic Golf Resort, here tomorrow.
The season so far has been one of uncertainty and great comebacks, and this leg is also expected to be a tightly fought one. Vani has shown great maturity and consistency and in the absence of Sharmila Nicollet, veteran Smriti Mehra and Neha Tripathi, Vani is a clear favourite.
It will be a good opportunity for the other young girls such as Saaniya Sharma, Ankita Tiwana, Pallavi Jain and Shweta Galande to prove their mettle as they will all aim for a top three finish.

Preetinder Kaur, Priya Puri, Vaishavi Sinha, Vandana Agarwal, Nikki Ponappa and amateur Amandeep Drall will complete the field in Ts five lakh event.
