Union minister Harsh Vardhan today visited Katra Dulia Market in Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, where a large number of shops were gutted in a fire recently.
"Visited the Katra Dulia market area which had caught fire on Tuesday night, gutting down around 150 garment shops. Thankfully, no life lost," he tweeted.
The Environment Minister was accompanied by the corporator from the area and various officials who apprised him about the situation and extent of the damage.
"The fire damage is immense given the density of shops in the area, but the corporation Delhi shall provide all possible rebuilding support.
"Spoke to all authorities concerned about addressing the immediate concerns of those affected and provide swift plans for restoring shops," he said in another tweet.
Chandni Chowk area falls under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
