Vehicle-lifter duo held, 8 bikes recovered

Police today claimed to have arrested two alleged members of a gang of vehicle-lifters and recovered eight motorcycles from their possession.
According to Indirapuram police, the duo hailing from Hapur and Muradnagar was arrested from the Khora Colony here.
Police said that following their questioning of the duo, they have recovered eight motorcycles which were allegedly stolen by the gang.
The arrested duo are being interrogated for further information pertaining to the gang, police added.
Also, Sahibabad police said they have arrested two alleged members of a gang of robbers and recovered a licensed revolver and a countrymade pistol from their possession.

Police said that the duo, identified as Arif and Danish, both residents of Meerut, were arrested from the Shalimar Garden area here.
Meanwhile, Kavinagar police here said they have recovered an abandoned car in which they found 100kg poppy husk. They added that efforts are on to trace the owner of the vehicle.
