Karve was appraised of the plant's operation and the ongoing protest by some members of the public outside Payyanur Gate, an INA release said.
Karve was was also told about the issues raised by the residents of Ramanthali Village, living near the area close to the STP, it said.
Officials told him that INA has appointed Provident Water Energy, atechnology firm recognised by Kerala State Pollution Control Board, to conduct a complete and thorough audit of the whole Sewage Treatment Systems at INA.
The local residents of Ramanthali have been staging protests outside the academy's gate, demanding the shifting of the STP which they said is contaminating their ground water wells.
Leaders of different political parties, including the Congress and BJP, visited the protesting residents to express their solidarity.
