Vidarbha settle for three points from drawn tie

Vidarbha earned three points on the basis of their first-innings lead against Odisha in a match that ended in a draw on the fourth and final day of their Ranji Trophy Group cricket B match here today.
Odisha today declared their first innings at the overnight total of 137 for nine, which they made in reply to Vidarbha's 240 in the first essay.
In the second innings, Ganesh Satish, who made 99 in the first essay, once again came up with a good performance, top scoring with 54 runs as Vidarbha declared at 165 for two in 47 overs to set the hosts a target of 269.
Faced with a task to save the match, Odisha were under pressure and they kept losing wickets at regular interval to be reeling at 97 for six.
But since there was hardly any time left in the day, the home team could post a face-saving draw, reaching 117 for six with skipper Abhilash Mallick (32 not out) top scoring for his team.
For Vidarbha, Shrikant Wagh (3/49) and Faiz Fazal (2/24) shared five wickets between them.
