Videocon Tele plans campus hiring from top academic institutes

Videocon Telecom today said it plans to hire freshers from top academic institutes such as IIMs, ISB, SP Jain, XLRI and IITs this year.
The company, however, did not specify how many freshers it wants to hire.
"We have plans to go to top business schools and engineering colleges including IIMs, ISB, S.P. Jain, XLRI, IITs amongst other leading institutes this year for campus placements to strengthen its employee eminence," Videocon Telecom Director and CEO Arvind Bali said in a statement.
The company which restarted its operation in January 2013 is hiring professionals for its existing business operations and for UP(East), UP(West), Bihar and Jharkhand where it plans to start services this year.
Videocon has earmarked Rs 1,200 crore for 4G services roll out in these states.

BBC joins hands with Thanthi TV to broadcast Tamil news * Global broadcaster BBC and south Indian news channel Thanthi TV have joined hands to broadcast BBC Tamil TV news bulletins in Tamil Nadu.
From April 1 Thanthi TV will air BBC's coverage of top international stories of the day in Tamil language from Monday to Friday, the broadcaster said in a statement.
Commenting on the partnership, BBC Tamil Editor, Manivannan Thirumalai said: "The pioneering launch of the Tamil TV news bulletin is a milestone for the Tamil-language international broadcasting, once again demonstrating the BBC's commitment to regional audiences."
The new TV programming adds to the BBC Tamil content available on radio, online and via mobile devices. BBC Tamil is part of BBC World Service.

Valecha Engineering bags projects worth Rs 125 crore * Valecha Engineering Ltd today said it has bagged projects worth Rs 125.49 crore, including a road project in Jharkhand.
"...Valecha Engineering Ltd has bagged projects worth Rs 125.49 crore," the company said in a filing to BSE.
The nature of work of the road project in Jharkhand entails strengthning, widening and reconstruction of Ghaghra-Netarhat (SH-9) road on EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) basis, it said.
The filing added the company has also been assigned work for retaining wall and road work of Rs 13.03 crore in Ahmedabad.
"As Valecha moves ahead it is focusing on getting an appropriate project mix involving leading edge infrastructure technologies. This will achieve a de-risked business model and increase operational growth," it said.
