The vigilance investigation bureau caught one Nitish Kumar Sinha, MNREGA programme officer posted at Pakribarawan block of Nawada district, red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 for sanctioning earth filling work under MNREGA scheme.
One Ramashish Yadav, a resident of Belkhunda village under Dhamaul police station of Nawada district, had lodged a complaint with the vigilance department that the MNREGA programme officer was demanding a bribe of Rs 20,000 for sanctioning earth filling work MNREGA scheme, the release said.
A team was constituted under Deputy Superintendent of Police Paras Nath Singh who raided and caught Nitish Kumar Sinha red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the block office in the district.
The accused will be produced before a Special Vigilance Court at Patna after interrogation, the release said.
