Village Sarpanch shot dead in Datia district

Sarpanch of a village in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh was allegedly killed by three persons over old enmity, police said today.

Rajora Sarpanch Raghuram Kamriya (35) was allegedly shot by Mayank Yadav, Anand Yadav and Anil Yadav last midnight, district superintendent of police Mayank Awasthi said.

Kamriya was rushed to a hospital where he died, the SP said.

The incident took place in Gayatri Garden area under the Datia police station limits where Kamriya had come to attend a wedding, Awasthi said, adding that police had registered a case of murder against the three accused, and efforts were on to arrest them.
