Police inspector Uttam Sonawane of the Dahanu police station said that on June 30, 2015, Shyamsunder Chowdhari had submitted a memorandum to IRDP office and had warned that he would immolate himself.
Yesterday at about 1.15 pm noon, he reached the IRDP office, doused himself with kerosene and made an attempt to set himself ablaze. Those present at the scene prevented him from immolating himself, the police officer said.
