Dinesh, a resident of Jhandipur village, along with his family members was travelling in a car to Mathura to attend a funeral service. An argument erupted between the Mahuvan toll plaza staff and the family over payment of toll charges, Dy SP S S Yadav said.
The staff allegedly hit a youth in private parts, who fell unconscious and assaulted other members of the family, he said.
The villagers blocked the traffic for over an hour. It was lifted only when police assured them of action in the matter.
An FIR has been registered against the staff of the toll plaza under relevant sections of the IPC, Yadav said.
