Villagers hack woman to death in Jhajjar village, injure son

A 52-year-old woman was hacked to death and her son critically injured allegedly by a group of villagers at Dharana in the district over some old enmity.
A group of villagers armed with sharp-edged weapons entered their house and attacked Shakuntla and her son Sansaar (23) when they were asleep late last night, police said today.
Shakuntla died on the spot and Sansaar had been admitted to civil hospital here in a critical condition.
On hearing cries, neighbours rushed to the house and informed police.
Dharambir Singh, kin of the deceased, told police that some villagers had engaged in a brawl with Shakuntla over some issue a few days ago and the attack could be its outcome.

Investigation Officer Vijay Kumar said the exact reason behind the attack was yet to be ascertained and an investigation had been started.
