The bandh has been called by Peoples' Joint Action Committee for Bodoland to demand talks with NDFB(P) at the political level with the Union Home Minister and also to press for a separate Bodoland.
An unidentified body was recovered from Bagansali area under Kokrajhar police station while bandh supporters set ablaze a motorcycle in Kokrajhar town, official sources said.
The bandh, which began last midnight, disrupted normal life with all shops, business and commercial establishments educational institutions and markets remaining closed.
Vehicles, too, remained off the road but trains operated as per schedule, sources said.
Security has been tightened throughout BTAD with patrolling intensified in vulnerable areas.
