Visually challenged woman raped in Sultanpuri

A visually challenged woman was allegedly raped on the pretext of marriage by a blind man in Sultanpuri area of outer Delhi, said police today.
Yesterday, a case has been registered in this connection at Sultanpuri police station on the complaint of the victim, who resides with a female friend in Sultanpuri area itself.
"She alleged that the man had taken her to a house in the same locality and raped her after promising marriage. Also, as per her version, the suspect has hid from her the fact that he was married and had two children.
"One day the woman fell ill upon which the suspect took her to Lady Hardinge Hospital for treatment. Medical tests were carried out on her which revealed she was pregnant," a senior police official said.
The woman in her complaint alleged that the suspect than fed her some medicines which led to termination of her pregnancy. The suspect, meanwhile has claimed innocence.
"We will make any arrest in this case only after verifying the facts," the official said.
