Girish Kumar Pandey was arrested yesterday for inciting workers who clashed with police and set afire vehicles on February 10 during their protest, they said.
The contractual employees of the Uttar Pradesh power Corporation Limited, who were staging a sit-in demanding regularisation of their employment, clashed with police and went on a rampage and torched two vehicles - a police jeep and a motorcycle.
The employees were protesting under the banner of VKSSS.
Pandey has been sent to jail, police said, adding CCTV footages are being analysed to nab others responsible for the vandalism.
