VMC to submit smart city devp plan to Guj govt

The Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will soon submit its smart city development plan to the Gujarat government, VMC Commissioner Manish Bhardwaj has said.
The state government had earlier asked the municipal corporations of Vadodara, Surat, Ahmedabad and Rajkot to submit their plans to it before February 15 for converting these four places into smart cities.
The VMC will submit the smart city development plan to the state government in a day or two, Bhardwaj said.
The Centre is planning to develop 100 smart cities in the country by modernising the mid-sized cities.
The state government has already started preparing a new policy framework and roadmap for developing these four places into smart cities.

A smart city will use digital technologies to enhance performance and well-being, to reduce costs and resource consumption, and to engage more effectively and actively with its citizens.
