Voltas Q4 net profit rises 51% to Rs 181 crore

Tata Group firm Voltas today reported a 51.43 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 180.71 crore for the March quarter on account of improvement in order execution by projects business.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 119.33 crore in the January-March quarter of 2014-15 fiscal, Voltas said in a BSE filing.
Voltas' net sales rose 26.38 per cent to Rs 1,875.72 crore in the fourth quarter of 2015-16 fiscal as compared with Rs 1,484.09 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Revenue from its Electro-mechanical Projects and Services business stood at Rs 818.55 crore during the quarter under review, up 36.50 per cent, as against Rs 599.67 crore in the year-ago period.
The company's revenue from Engineering Products and Services segment surged 14.32 per cent to Rs 92.66 crore as against Rs 81.05 crore in the same period a year ago.
Revenue from Unitary Cooling Products for Comfort and Commercial Use business stood at Rs 859.05 crore in the quarter under review, up 14.64 per cent, compared with Rs 780.73 crore in the year-ago period.
For the full fiscal, Voltas Ltd's consolidated net profit rose 1.58 per cent to Rs 392.13 crore as against Rs 386.03 crore in 2014-15.
Its consolidated net sales increased 13.36 per cent to Rs 5,831.83 crore in the 2015-16 fiscal from Rs 5,144.29 crore a year ago.
In a separate filing, Voltas informed that its board has recommended a dividend of Rs 2.60 per share on face value of Re 1 per share for the year 2015-16, which is subject to approval by the shareholders at its annual general meeting.
Voltas shares today closed 3 per cent up at Rs 335.05 apiece on BSE.
