World Anti-Doping Agency President Craig Reedie says his wife threatened to divorce him if he didn't resign from the organisation amid the furore over the Russia investigation.

Critics say because Reedie is a member of the International Olympic Committee his objectivity has been compromised.

Reedie told The Associated Press, "I don't think the world gets better by me not being there."
Reedie says "it's not particularly comfortable to continually read in the papers ... that you should resign or you're not doing (the job) properly."
