Aam Aadmi Party is determined to finish the "VIP culture" in Delhi and the decision by its MLAs to take the metro rail to Ramlila Maidan tomorrow for the swearing-in ceremony was in keeping with that goal, party leader Manish Sisodia said here today.
"We want to finish the netas' VIP culture in Delhi... All 28 MLAs of AAP, including CM designate Arvind Kejriwal, will go to the venue for the swearing-in ceremony on the metro.
"Along with Kejriwal, I will catch a train from Kausambi metro station at 11 A.M. While the other AAP MLAs would be taking the metro from their respective constituencies," Sisodia told reporters here.
The party has taken the stand against VIP culture as its members are not VIPs, Sisodia said, adding that the aim was to show the common man that their CM and MLAs were no different from them.
Meanwhile, asked if Kejriwal had invited anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare for the swearing in, Sisodia said he had no information regarding the matter.
Talking about the oath-taking ceremony tomorrow, Sisodia said that the portfolios for those AAP MLAs who join the government would be announced after the swearing in. As to the bureaucratic appointments for the new government, those would be decided only after discussions, he added.
