20-year-old Sita Ram Salaam was arrested from Nariya village forest area during the joint search operation conducted by District police and Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) last evening, Superintendent of Police D Shravan said.
Sita Ram, a native of Nariya village, was active in Naxalite movement since 2010 and was accused of torching a tractor which was being used in road construction at Bhatpal-Bayanar road in 2011, he said.
The Naxalite-hit Kondgaon district is based at 300 km away from capital Raipur.
