The arrests were made by the Navi Mumbai unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The ward officer Ganesh Borade and another person Khayyum Pasha Shaikh, had made a demand of Rs 5 lakh to the complainant for not taking action against him under the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices (MRTP) Act, a release from ACB said.
The duo was trapped this afternoon while accepting Rs three lakh in the corporation office, the ACB said adding that an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the duo with the local police station.
