Watchman kills his colleague, arrested

A middle-aged security guard was allegedly murdered by his 25-year-old colleague in the wee hours here today, following which the accused was arrested, police said.
The alleged murder took place at a construction site in Wadala here around 3 am today, in which the accused Nirmal Roy, who also works as a watchman, murdered the victim Shatrughan Paswan (50).
"Both of them had entered into an argument and the deceased had insulted the accused last night while having dinner together at the site," DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
Later, when Paswan was in deep slumber, the accused hit him with an iron rod, in which the victim died, police said.

According to the police, the girls managed to escape from the clutches of Chavan by attacking him with an iron rod.
Meanwhile, Thane Municipal Corporation has suspended five woman teachers of the school, including the headmistress, for dereliction of duty in connection with the incident.
Police have found around 100 objectionable clips in the mobile phone of the accused.
"Civic Commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal has taken a serious view of the incident and ordered immediate suspension of the five teachers for dereliction of duty and ordered a departmental enquiry against them," a Thane Municipal Corporation release stated.
The teachers suspended are Alpita Tandel, the headmistress, Smita Sawant, Shyamal Mungekar, Aarti Talekar and Madhuri Deshmukh, it said.
When the parents of the victims approached the school teachers, the headmistress called the security agency and informed them about the incident and sought action, it added.
