"Today, the water level in Bhakra reservoir was 1,577.84 feet as against 1,581.07 feet in the corresponding period of last year," an official of Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) said here.
On Sunday, the water level in Bhakra dam was 1,576.63 feet, he said.
Meanwhile, the Pong dam today recorded water level of 1,320.45 feet, which is almost 8 feet higher than what it was in the corresponding period of last year.
However, in corresponding period last year, the water inflow in Bhakra was 51,046 cusecs.
The water inflow in Pong dam was 7,430 cusecs while outflow stood at 6,500 cusecs, official said.
Last year, the water level in Bhakra reservoir during its filling season surged to 1,678.55 feet on the back of rains and heavy snow melting as against its filling capacity of 1,680 feet.
Partnering states Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan get water from Bhakra and Pong for various purposes, including irrigation.
