Water to be released from three dams tomorrow

The Tamil Nadu government today ordered release of water from the Papanasam, Servalaru and Manimuthar reservoirs for irrigation of lands in Tuticorin district from tomorrow.
Following requests from farmers, water would be released from these reservoirs to Maruthur Melakalvai and Maruthur Keezhakkalvai, Srivaikundam North Main Channel, Srivaikundam South Main Channels from December 2, Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said in a statement.
The release of water would benefit over 32,601 acres of farming lands in Srivaikundam, Tiruchendur and Satthankulam areas of Tuticorin district, he added.
