The allegation has been termed "baseless" by the municipality, which is the northern fringes of the city.
"The Dum Dum municipality has been promoting various projects such as Kanyashree and others by using the FIFA logo in advertisements that has been put up in the area. We will inform FIFA about it. How can the logo of FIFA be used by a municipality to promote the state government's project ?" Chowdhury said while speaking to reporters here.
When contacted the municipality vice-chairman, Barun Natta, termed the allegation as completely baseless.
"The allegations are completely baseless. It is true that we had put out advertisements promoting various projects of the state government but we had never used the FIFA logo. The allegations have been made to malign us," he added.
