Sunrisers Hyderabad have been in a stupendous run in the IPL and their captain Cameron White today said that they can do even better by improving on the batting front.
"Our batting needs to improve. Bowling is outstanding. The bowlers led by these two gentlemen (Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma, who were sitting beside him) are doing a great job. We need to lift our batting. If we make it sure, we can continue to win more matches," he told reporters here at an event.
Replying to a query, White said young Hyderabad players like Hanuma Vihari were doing well which was a good sign both for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Indian cricket as well.
White said it was decided to give Kumar Sangakkara a break as he would not be available for the match against Chennai Super Kings on April 25.
Sangakkara and Thisara Perera, the two Sri Lankan players in the team, will not be available for the match as all the players from the island nation will not play IPL matches in Chennai.
The arrival of West Indies captain Darren Sammy would be a big asset for his side, White said.
Steyn said Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Deccan Chargers earlier, have always received fantastic support from Hyderabad fans and he hoped that the support would continue the same way.
To another query, Styen said he liked the famous Hyderabadi biryani.
Sunrisers Hyderabad are at the top of the points table in IPL VI with 10 points from seven matches.
