Weak conditions prevail in thin trade

Weak conditions prevailed at the wholesale pulses market today as select pulses led by kabuli gram and gram prices plunged by up to Rs 400 per quintal owing to slackened demand from retailers.
Traders said muted demand from retailers against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts,mainly led to the fall in kabuli gram, gram and other pulses prices.
Lower enquiries from dal mills also weighed on prices, they added.
In the national capital, kabuli gram small variety suffered the most by plunging Rs 400 to Rs 7,000-8,000 per quintal.
Gram followed suit and declined by Rs 200 to Rs 4,100- 4,650 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality traded lower by Rs 300 each to Rs 4,600-5,000 and Rs 5,000-5,100 per quintal respectively. Besan Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted lower at Rs 2,100 each instead of Rs 2,200 each per 35 kg bag.

Arhar and its dal dara variety shed Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,200 and Rs 6,000-7,900 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold also sofened by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,650-3,800 and Rs 3,750-3,900 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,800- 4,200 and Rs 3,900-4,300 per quintal.
Malka local and best quality lost Rs 200 each to Rs 4,000-4,200 and Rs 4,100-4,400 per quintal respectively.
In line with overall trend, urad and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,900-5,500 and Rs 4,900- 5,000 per quintal. Its dal best quality and dhoya traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 5,000-5,500 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal.
