Wearing a string of leaves,holding 2 skulls,man causes flutter

Wearing a string of leaves around his waist and holding two skulls and the national flag, a man caused a flutter at the Collectorate here, staging a dharna for some time over his demand for patta (deed) for land.
Saravanan (40), with his eyebrows painted red and white staged a dharna for some time, demanding a patta in his mother's name, police said.
He decided on this form of protest after officials allegedly rejeted his repeated pleas for patta, they said.
Saravanan was later escorted outside the Collectorate.
Police said he had twice attempted to commit suicide by setting himself and his family ablaze for not receiving any replies to his pleas.
