Several parts of Mumbai got unseasonal showers Sunday evening which meteorological department officials said was caused due to high temperatures over the last week.
IMD officials said parts of western and north Maharashtra also received rains.
"There was indication of increasing weather activities in the last few days which led to showers and lightning. Some western suburbs of Mumbai along with parts of Satara and Sangli districts received showers on Sunday evening," he said.
"In north Maharashtra, districts such as Dhule and Nandurbar also reported some unseasonal rainfall along with lightning," the India Meteorological Department official said.
Earlier, the state's Vidarbha and Marathwada regions received showers in the last two weeks.
