An official spokesman said 4,25,909 lakh tonnes (LT) of wheat has had been procured in the state till last evening.
The government agencies procured 3,87,674 LT for the central pool while private traders procured 38, 235 tonnes of wheat, he said.
Giving the details of agency wise procurement, he said PUNGRAIN procured maximum amongst the government agencies at 23.3 per cent of wheat purchase whereas MARKFED procured 21 per cent of crop.
PUNSUP, PSWC and FCI purchased 15.7 per cent, 11.7 per cent and 7.6 per cent of wheat respectively for the central pool.
