However, Sehrawat wasn't the only one to be reminded of it, the list of such elected representatives not signing also included councillors from the Congress and the AAP.
Sehrawat, 44, who had won the civic polls by a record margin from Dwarka -B ward, was sitting in the front row in the House, while the oath-taking ceremony was underway.
Midway through the formalities, a South Delhi Municipal Corporation official, who was administering oath, read out a list of names of some of the newly-elected councillors who had not signed the attendance sheet before entering the House.
Greater Kailash councillor Shikha Roy, who later was chosen as the Leader of the House by the ruling BJP, had also forgotten to sign the attendance sheet. Other BJP councillors who did the same, included, Nitika (Dwarka-A) and Satya Pal Malik (Roshanpura).
After the oath-taking ceremony, Sehrtawat was elected unopposed as the mayor of South Delhi as the new team of the area's civic body also took charge.
She had trounced AAP's Sushma Bansal in Dwarka-B ward by a record margin of 9,866 votes, the highest in the entire polls.
Kidwai, a filmmaker by profession, who took the oath in English, later told reporters, "I have to carry forward the legacy of civic service left by my uncle and grandmother. And, I hope I would live up to the expectations of the people, who have elected me."
In the 104-member House the BJP has 70 councillors, the AAP 16 and the Congress 12. One councillor each is from the SP and the INLD, while four had won as independent candidates.
