Wild elephant crushes farmer to death in UP

A farmer was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Biharigarh area here, police said today.
40-year-old Dharam Singh was crushed to death by the wild elephant, while he was guarding his fields last night in Ganesh Nagar under Biharigarh area here, Biharigarh Police Station Upper Superintendent (Rural) Jagdish Sharma said.
Police personnel and a team of forest officials reached the spot after local villagers intimated them about the incident this morning, he said, adding that the victim's body has been sent for postmortem.
