The elephants were recently captured from Vellore district after they entered into human settlements and later relocated to Anaimalai and Muthumalai tiger reserves, a government release here said today.
While the male elephants were named as Narasimha, Bharathi and Krishna, the female ones were christened as Devi, Kaaveri and Narmadha by Jayalalithaa, the release said.
Further, Jayalalithaa launched a series of initiatives totalling around Rs 66 crore including in the education sector.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for various projects worth Rs 5.50 crore including Teachers' Quarters at Tiruchirappalli.
Similarly, she launched Rs 25.90 crore worth buildings including schools, hostels and community centres constructed for Adi Dravida community people.
