Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today said the state government would consider giving pension to those who were jailed during the Emergency imposed by the Indira Gandhi Government in 1975.
Senior BJP leader Eknath Khadse raised the issue in the Legislative Assembly here.
"Maharashtra government should consider paying some pension to those who were jailed during the Emergency, as other BJP-led state governments have made such provision," Khadse said.
"We will definitely consider the proposal," the CM said.
