Will Ferrell quits 'Captain Dad'
The 49-year-old actor was roped in to play lead character Rich Peelman in the comedy, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Filming was due to begin in the South American country from September 29, but now Ferrell is out studio Protagonist Pictures is desperately looking for a replacement.
No official reason for Ferrell's departure is yet to be given.
"Superbad" star Michael Cera and actress Catherine Keener are to star in the movie which is being directed by Sebastian Silva, who has also penned the screenplay.
