Will help J'khand in its development endeavour: Niti Aayog

NITI Aayog today said it will help Jharkhand in all possible ways in its development endeavour.
Member of NITI Aayog V K Saraswat said here after meeting Chief Minister Raghubar Das and top officials, that it is ready to help and cooperate the state for its developmental projects, according to an official release.
Saraswat congratulated Jharkhand for being one of the most important faces of emerging India and said the state has made a confident beginning in all sectors.
He appreciated the good performance in growth rate, effective policies and dynamic leadership of the state, the release said.
In the meeting, the chief minister appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative of sending members of NITI Aayog to states to know their difficulties and priorities.
He said the new Jharkhand requires Centre's help in education, health and other important sectors and the government has taken up concrete steps for development of the state, the release said.
Das said the government is committed to provide electricity to all houses by 2018 and make all districts open defecation free.
Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said the state is faring well in development as its growth rate last year was 8.6 per cent, which is better than the national average of 6.8 per cent.
On ease of doing business, Jharkhand has scored 96.5 per cent and is one of the top states of the country, she said.
