Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party chief Ramvilas Paswan today said the NDA government will "restore the dignity" of the places where Dalit icon Dr B R Ambedkar lived in and outside the country.
According to Paswan, the Union government along with Madhya Pradesh government will restore the dignity of Mhow, where Ambedkar, the architect of Indian Constitution, was born.
The Union minister for food and civil supplies also took a jibe at the Opposition Congress saying: "Had Rahul Gandhi gone there (Mhow) five years ago, he would have found it is not worth living.
"I am thankful to Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh), who has made a gigantic memorial of Babasaheb in Mhow," he said.
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had visited Mhow on June 2 and to flag off the party's year-long celebrations of Ambedkar's 125th anniversary.
Paswan further said the Centre was going to buy land in London, where Ambedkar had lived during his stay at London School of Economics.
"Besides that, a land in Nagpur, where Ambedkar had adopted Buddhism and his house at 26, Alipur road where he wrote the Constitution are also under consideration to be converted into national memorials," he said.
The LJP leader further said Centre has named 'Indu Mill' compound in Mumbai after Ambedkar Trust.
