The coach of Bangladesh women's cricket team Oshadee Weerasinghe today said that he side would look to avoid a whitewash in the three-match series against India.
"We are improving every day. We will avoid whitewash and expect to win at least one match in the series," Weerasinghe said.
The first one-day international will be played here tomorrow while the second and the final matches are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday.
Bangladesh captain Salma Khatun said that the Indian side "are well-organised and we are eager to learn from Indian girls".
"They are much more experienced than us. We got ODI status from ICC only in November 2011. They get opportunity to play among various states in India while in Bangladesh, we are the only players as there are no opponents," Khatun added.
Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur said that the focus was on finding the right balance.
"The focus is on team balance in the batting and bowling departments. We will play the best available eleven in the first two matches and if we win the series, we can experiment in the third one-dayer," Kaur said.
India had blanked Bangladesh 3-0 in the recently-concluded T20 series.
After the World Cup debacle at home, India have fielded a new-look young team.
"The new-comers are responding well. Many of them are in the senior team for the first time, it will take some time to gel," Kaur said.
Coach of Indian women's team, Tushar Arothe said, "The team needs to improve the standard of fielding. In the first T20, the fielding was OK while in the second one, we improved a lot. We also need to bowl well during the powerplay and slog overs.
