The short Winter session of Parliament which has proved to be a washout so far could be adjourned sine die by Friday, a week ahead of its conclusion.
Indications to this effect were available this evening with floor managers saying that the financial business could be completed in both Houses tomorrow.
Some said the Houses may be adjourned even tomorrow.
A three-line whip asking members to be present in the House and vote in favour of the government business has also been issued by Congress for three days from today.
Three notices of no-confidence motion in the government have been given, but Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar could not take it up for consideration due to din in the House yesterday and today.
Despite being the briefest session of the 15th Lok Sabha, the session which started on December 5 and is to conclude on December 20 failed to transact any business with the Opposition raising a variety of issues.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath dismissed any threat in wake of plans by some anti-Telangana Lok Sabha MPs, including those from Congress, to bring a no-confidence motion.
"The government has the numbers and any no-confidence motion will not succeed...The government has majority. So the question of any no-confidence motion succeeding does not arise," he said.
