Woman abducted, raped; case registered against one person

A married woman was allegedly abducted and raped by her neighbour here, following which the police has registered a case against one person on the direction of the local court.
The woman was allegedly abducted by one Umesh Kumar on June 27 from Safidon Gate here, police said.
According to a complaint filed by woman's husband, Kumar, who lives in the couple's neighbourhood, abducted the woman and raped her, police said, adding, the accused kept her in captivity for one week and also threatened her of dire consequences if she narrated the incident to anyone.
However, the woman managed to escape after one week, said Karambir, Police Station In-charge, adding, following which she narrated her ordeal to her husband.

The woman's husband alleged that the police refused to file a complaint in this connection after which they went to the local court.
The court then ordered the police to register an FIR against Kumar for abducting, raping, and threatening the woman.
The investigation into the case is on, police said.
