Woman and nephew found hanging from tree

Bodies of a 25-year-old woman and her nephew were found hanging from a tree on the bank of river Badanadi at Karpura Nuagaon near Aska in Odisha's Ganjam district today.
The two were missing from the village for about a week and their bodies were found hanging by villagers this morning with the woman's one-and-a-half-year-old son crying at the site, said inspector-in charge of Aska police station, Baleswara Gidhi.
The woman was identified as Bishnupriya Behera and her nephew Madana Behera (25), residents of Karpura Nuagaon under the Aska police station limits, the police said.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem and investigation was on to ascertain the circumstances that led the duo to the extreme step, they said.
