A 12-year-old girl and her three-year old brother of the nomad family from Andhra Pradesh presently living here were reported missing from April 17 and based on a complaint from their mother, a case was registered by police.
Investigations revealed that one Mallika of Ariyalur district had taken the children by train to Puducherry on the promise of ensuring a comfortable living, Assistant Police Commissioner C Chandrasekaran said.
She was arrested yesterday near Puducherry and brought here before being produced before Magistrate Lakshmi, who remanded her to 15 days judicial custody.
