Woman attempts suicide after husband rejects dance invite

A 53-year-old Chinese woman attempted to commit suicide after her husband rejected her invitation to join a group square dance.
The woman in east China's Zhejiang Province underwent an hour of emergency treatment at an hospital after she attempted suicide by consuming liquor laced with insect poison on July 4, the Global Times reported.
Finding the woman lying on the floor unconscious, her husband called for help.
Police said the woman had called her daughter earlier that evening, saying she "doesn't want to live," the report said.
Reacting to the incident, her husband said he supports his wife's hobby but never expected her to react so drastically.
