Poonam Pal hanged herself with her 'dupatta' at her home yesterday in Barra 8 area of the district, police said today.
She was apparently upset with her husband Brajesh, who works at a private hospital, a police spokesperson said.
She had asked her husband to take leave on their first marriage anniversary but he left saying he would return home early, he said, adding the couple had quarelled over the issue.
Later, the victim's mother-in-law left for market but when she returned in the evening, she found Poonam hanging from the skylight of a room on the first floor of the house, he said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem, he said.
"The woman's family has not complained against anyone, so the in-laws have not been questioned as yet," he said.
