According to the police, 26-year-old Vasanti Vasava who was a Pratappura village native used to serve as a constable at police station.
She committed suicide by hanging herself at her government quarters near the police station on Wednesday night, police said.
After learning about her suicide, her family members alleged that head constable Vijaysinh Vaghela, who is posted in the same police station, is responsible for her step.
After protests by Vasava's family members and villagers, the local police filed an FIR against Vaghela and his wife for abetting suicide yesterday.
Meanwhile, the police sent her body for post mortem to Vadodara yesterday night.
After her body arrived in the town from Vadodara today evening, Vasava's family members and a large number of villagers once again took her body to the police station and began a protest demanding immediate arrest of the Vaghela couple.
