The mother and the newborn are healthy and have been admitted to the district hospital by the RPF, SP Anees Ahmed Ansari said.
Sanjay Kumar and his wife Sangeeta were going to Samastipur for Chhath Puja by the Amritsar-Saharsa Janseva Express.
The train was very crowded and so the couple boarded the coach for the disabled. During the journey, Sangeeta got pushed and she fell and went into labour. She then delivered the baby on the train itself, he said.
