The victim, identified as Anju, was married to Vinay Singh of the Rohi village five years ago, they said.
The deceased's father Pratap Singh has lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws, who were absconding, for allegedly killing her for want of dowry.
An FIR has been registered and further investigations were on, police added.
