Woman gangraped by four persons in UP

A 40-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by four persons while she was returning to her home in Kailash Nagar colony, police said today.
The woman, mother of three children, was last night returning with her cousin Partap from her work in Noida sector 63 on his bike, SHO of Vijay Nagar police station, Surendra Yadav said.
Due to traffic on National Highway 24, Partap took the unmetalled road in Avas Vikas residential area, he said.
Four men waylaid and caught hold of them and gangraped the woman after threatening her cousin of dire consequences, the police said.
She lodged a complaint with Vijay Nagar Police.

An FIR was registered under section 376 (rape) of IPC against the four unidentified accused and the victim was sent for medical examination, the SHO said.
A probe is on in the matter.
