The marriage of the 36-year-old Block Development Officer of Chakapad Sanat Kumar Nayak was solemnised at the office of the sub-register of Kandhamal in the presence of chairperson of the State Commission for Women, senior officers, police and media persons here, Sub-Collector of Kandhamal Balaram Malik said.
A long counseling session by the Women Desk of police as well as the state Women Commission resulted into the marriage, he said.
She had further alleged that Nayak had married her at Sriram Temple in Bhubaneswar in late 2013 and both had a conjugal life. But Nayak was reluctant to accept her as his wife.
She had lodged the complaint against Nayak after knowing that his family members were planning to marry their son off to some other woman on March 10.
Acting on the complaint, the Kandhamal SP had directed the Women desk of police to settle the matter through counseling, he said.
