Fed up with his drinking habit, a woman allegedly got her 22-year-old son killed with the help of her elder son, police said today.
Anita and Atul Garg, both residents of Loni area, Shakeel and Hariom have been arrested in connection with the murder of Ashish Garg, who was strangled to death and his body dumped in the forest area of Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh in November last year, police said.
Anita along with his elder son Atul had hatched the plan to eliminate Ashish Garg as he was not ready to quit his drinking habit.
"Anita told police that she used to advise her younger son Ashish to quit his drinking habit, but he didn't do so. His elder brother Atul also used to suggest him against it," said a senior police official.
The official said Anita also alleged that Ashish wanted to have a relationship with his sister-in-law and used to fight with them after drinking alcohol.
"Fed up with Ashish's drinking habit, Anita and Atul hatched a plan to eliminate him. Atul approached his friend Shakeel, who asked contract killer Rajbeer to murder Ashish for Rs 30,000.
"On November 17 last year, Atul arranged a meeting between his brother Ashish and Rajbeer. They later offered drinks to Ashish. Taking advantage of Ashish being unconscious, Rajbeer along with Hariom strangled him to death and dumped his body in the forest area of Amroha district," the official added.
After killing Ashish, Atul lodged a missing complaint regarding Ashish to mislead the police.
"Police today arrested Ashish's mother Anita, his brother Anita, Shakeel and Hariom from the Loni Bus Stand 2 while we have launched a manhunt to nab contract killer Rajbeer," the official added.
