Woman injured in elephant attack

A 45-year-old woman was today seriously injured after a wild tusker attacked her near her house at Coonoor in Nilgiris district, police said.
The woman was sweeping the front portion of her house when the elephant suddenly attacked her, police said.
Neighbours and villagers raised an alarm and drove the pachyderm away.
The woman's condition is said to be serious, police said.
